PU to establish departmental alumni endowment fund


LAHORE: (Tuesday, May 6, 2025): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali has said that PU will establish department-wise alumni endowment fund to help needy students through scholarships. He was addressing the 11th graduation ceremony of Punjab University College of Pharmacy. On this occasion, Director General Punjab Agriculture Food & Drug Authority Lahore Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, Pro-VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem, Principal College of Pharmacy Prof Dr Syed Atif Raza, faculty members, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and a large number of students and their parents were present.

In his address, PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali said that great names in the field of pharmacy are associated with Punjab University. He said that we have to decide for what purpose education should be used. He said that we have to fix our issues on our own as no one else will do it. He said that convocation is a good tradition to acknowledge the success of students, in which parents play an important role. He said that only those students who are self-confident will succeed in the practical field. He said that students will have to work hard to achieve their goals. He said that the students can find a better future for them in Pakistan by working hard. He said that PU College of Pharmacy plays an important role in the field of pharmacy in Pakistan. He congratulated the students, their parents and teachers, who received degrees and medals. Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem said that students should use their education to serve humanity. Prof Dr Syed Atif Raza said that PU College of Pharmacy is among the top 350 pharmacy institutions in the world. He said that students from different countries come to study at the PU College of Pharmacy. He said that the research impact factor of the teachers in the college is more than 60. He said that there are a number of demands for our graduates in the market. Degrees and medals were distributed among the successful students at the ceremony.
